Ahead of his spot on the Field Day lineup come New Years Eve alongside Todd Terje, Dillon Francis and more, Jamie xx has knocked out a two-hour mix of emerging club beats from around the world for BBC.
Those thinking this would be a casual thumper have it wrong with an eclectic, varied and sonic wrap of electronic music that jumps from Floating Points to Kowton.
It also features a few of the Brit’s besties with James Blakes new one “200” tucked in alongside a Chance The Rapper lick and even a Sun Kil Moon cut.
Better still is word that The xx drummer has confirmed new albums from the band and a solo effort that will see those characteristic steel drums feature somewhere amongst it – yew!
Those saddened to say goodbye to Jamie have a reason to smile with word that Kaytranada is set to take the reigns next year.
