Watch The xx Perform ‘Islands’ Inside The Guggenheim Museum

The xx performed in the Guggenheim Museum last night as part of the sold out Gala pre-party and lucky for us someone was there to capture it front and centre!

Although only one song deep and questionable quality (potato cam?), the band knocked out a rocky version of ‘Islands’ taken from their debut self-titled album released back in 2009 – we’re hoping for a few more uploads to really feel what it was like.

If you’ve ever seen The xx perform live you know it’s the real deal and to experience them inside New Yorks Gugg’ museum would be like no other that even included a sing along from the part young, part cultural elite crowd.

At the end of October Jamie xx confirmed that there is a new xx album on the way along with his solo debut effort, both expected to drop early 2015 through badass label Young Turks. He’ll also play a run of Australia dates around New Years Eve and New Years Day with spots at Field Day in Sydney and Falls Festival in Victoria.

We wait…
