What’s up Drum Nerds? The ultimate documentary on the 808 drum machine is on the way! First teased all the way back in 2012 by producer Arthur Baker the film simply titled ‘808’ keeps the pitch simple bouncing from the impact of Afrikka Bambaattaa’s Planet Rock the film talks to integral members of the music community as well as the manufacturers about the legacy and the signature of the Roland TR-808 drum machine. That and the mystery of the 808’s discontinuation at the height of its success.
