Can We All Take A Second To Appreciate Sven Vath’s ‘L’Esperanza’ Music Video Please?

Thankfully a friend pointed me towards Sven Vaths “L’Esperanza” music video the other day, a clip made way back in 1993 when the DJ was front and centre in the dance world and seemingly so, making ridiculous ocean themed visual masterpieces.

The song, released during his meteoric rise on dance floors is a blissful slice of house music considered by some as one of his best. It’s the video though that really shines as Sven pots around on a small row boat before diving into the vibrant blue ocean to get around with a pair of friendly dolphins, because… well, of course he can. There is of course a small cameo from a curvaceous bronzed female but the focus really is three minutes of man vs animal bro-man-ship!

How did the theme for the video come about?

The only thing we could think of is possibly the water an indication of just how wet the dance-floor became when the big man stepped out on to the one’s and two’s each night in Ibiza. Also a fitting cooler of a video in the lead up to his absolute munt-fest at Love Parade in 2000

Our favourite bit is certainly right at the end with Sven signing out with a big ole thumbs up and wink at the camera before scooting away amongst the coral!
