Australian trendsetting producers Yahtzel and L D R U have – in an unexpected though equally unsurprising turn of events – come to together under the moniker “Carmada.” Individually, the duo have been stirring up a tropical future bass storm over the last couple of years, establishing themselves as highly sought after Australian Sound representatives.
After being invited to play a B2B set in the Mixup tent (at Australia’s most iconic festival “Splendour in the Grass”), both drew a seriously huge crowd. Their combined force cast light and good vibes upon the festival-goers, and was followed up by a major-label-backed EP in record time – their complementary strengths and weaknesses producing work of twice the speed and quality.
Carmada brings a kaleidoscope of colour. With major label backing, we expect a large storm to follow this lightening. Their edgy and bonkers sound separates them from the current future tropical bass/trap scene here in Australia. If Skrillex, What So Not and Branchez were to get hot and heavy one sweet summer eve, they would name the baby Carmada.
I’m not a very aggressive person and even I want to whip my head back and forth to dis.
