Friday Five MP3 Wrap #2: Rusko, Swick, Cashmere Cat, JAWZ and Aphex Twin

It’s Friday again and i’ve got more tabs open than I can comprehend with a stash of them MP3 goodies that need a place to go. In an effort to de-stress my life, my laptop and weekend here are five of the best following on from the debut of the series. What else do you need to know? Ummm there isn’t much connect between the tracks but they’ll all spark your interests.

Rusko – I Wanna Mingle feat Pusher

We haven’t heard from Rusko in a while and there seems to be some merit to that with a new EP on the way. Dubbed Volume 2 the fresh bit of electronic fodder is a stretch from his usual bass antics and instead a weirdo 8-bit, melodic jam in the form of “I Wanna Mingle” feat Pusher (not Pusher T as far as we can tell). After a first bite we’re interested to hear the rest!

Swick & Lewis Cancut – Wishes (ft. Tkay Maidza)

An all Australian affair for Ryan Hemsworth Secret Sounds project in which he gives away cool ass beats that he likes without the label mumbo jumbo. Whoever’s idea it was to get Swick, Lewis Cancut and Tkay Maidza together for a track should be given a pat on the back or ice cold can of coke. It’s melodic, it’s bright, it’s bloody Australian! Expect to hear this in the next 10 Ryan Hemsworth mixes.

Ariana Grande – Be My Baby feat. Cashmere Cat (Edit)

Ariana Grande made a wise decision to bring on Nordic 420 enthusiast Cashmere Cat for a little help with “Be My Baby” taken from her debut album that also featured Zedd (hai buddy, get better soon). Better still CC decided he’d edit the original for a bit more of that pump-action crush. 5/5 dance moves

George Maple – Talk Talk (JAWZ Flip)

George Maple is Future Classic’s new babe-y who pushed out her latest single “Talk Talk” to much fan fair. It certainly helped that both Flume and Snakehips claimed co-production duties without actually acknowledging each other. That aside Australian soundscape dude JAWZ has given it a liberal synth soak and fattened everything up from bassline to raw emotion that’ll appeal to GANZ fans.

Aphex Twin – minipops 67 [120.2][source Field Mix]

The first new Aphex Twin in 13 years and it’s really weird, but that’s the point right? After hearing the entire album recently minipops 67 was great but there were definitely other tracks that jumped out at me in various bpms and nature. That being said super fans of Aphex Twin will just be happy to hear that Richard hasn’t stopped making music and in fact is back on track to release more. Huzzah!

That’s all from me, if I missed anything drop them in the comments below and i’ll take a listen. Promise.
