SBTRKT fans must be pinching themselves with not one, but two new tracks surfacing online this week. It was only Tuesday we heard “Higher” featuring Atlanta rapper Raury and now another rap friendly co-lab with A$AP Ferg.

Unlike the pace and tempo of “Higher” with its speedy rap delivery, the new original dubbed “Voices In My Head” is a haunting jumbly jazz track that’ll prove an album favourite to many who prefer slinky, groovy beats and sounding akin to a handful of oneohtrix point never productions.

SBTRKT shared on Soundcloud a few details on how the project came together;

i started this in London with an idea i recorded on an upright piano – took this to Los Angeles (set up at Fleas the Boat studio in Silver Lake) collaborating further with Stella (drums) & Emily (vocals) from Warpaint – took this back to london to work more arrangement ideas to it and finally a couple months later took that to New York (Downtown – The Roots were in the studio next door!) and collaborated with Ferg (out to our friend Callender for connecting us) this is one of my fave tracks and seemed to be a fitting ending to the record too. this started with me having a seed idea but seeing it grow way beyond that with these multi layers of collaboration and places. shout to ferg, stella and emily for their input!

 We won’t have to wait too much longer until the release of ‘Wonder Where We Land’ come September 29th on Young Turks. We’d also have an inkling that SBTRKT will return to Australia to tour the new album. Fingers crossed!
