The Prodigy Talk Almost Breaking Up, New ‘Violent’ Album

Everyones favourite 90’s rave group The Prodigy have shared details on that ‘Invaders Must Die’ follow up with word that’ll excitedly be out before the years end.

Lead spaceman Liam Howlett recently  told NME that the forthcoming LP will be “… more violent-sounding; it feels wilder. It’s not so much old-school. It’s neither guitar-based not synth-based; it’s kind of a mixture.” adding: “It doesn’t feel so radio-friendly to me; it feels like its got a lot of edge.”

Since their last LP released in 2009 certainly rattled bones we’re trying to image just how more violent things can get? Especially since we’re all feeling overly nostalgic towards their earlier more pumping bpm hits “Firestarter” and “Smack My Bitch Up”.

Surprisingly the sixth album almost didn’t make it after Howlett explained he felt as if the scene had died and with it, the bands output but after a quick squizz of a Rage Against The Machines show while in American he felt the music block removed and ready to work on the next instalment of the seminal electronic/rock band.

Although taking aim at a European and UK touring  circuit there’s no doubt the crew will be heading to Australia to spruce the new sounds, especially with their close love affair with our brown lands.

Don’t believe us? Watch a special live version of “Take Me To The Hospital” dedicated to the bush fire victims and performed at the now defunct Big Day Out circa 2009 below.
