Kele Channels Dance On New Album, Shares Release Date

We’re all aware of the presence of one Mr. Kele Okereke. First of all the the front man of Bloc Party (before they broke up for the first time), Kele took his talents to a solo project first of all a few years ago with the well-received release of his EP ‘The Boxer’. Then he became the front man of Bloc Party again. Then they broke up again, and he released his slightly less critically acclaimed (and memorable) ‘The Hunter’. Then he was the front man of Bloc Party again. Then he went on tour with them, and released a house record of his own and did some DJ gigs, and now much to the displeasure of all involved, Bloc Party are on hiatus indefinitely again, so quite frankly I’m ashamed of us all that no one saw this coming.

Hot off the presses of his Facebook page, we can announce that the man himself is due to release a 3rd EP entitled ‘Tricks’ on October 13, and to the surprise of extremely few we’re pleased to report that it’s going to have a very dance heavy influence once again. It’s no secret of the effect electronic music had on Bloc Party over the years (listen to Intimacy), and Kele’s own blog features more house music than anything else.

Since the Hunter was released it’s fair to say that Kele has probably had something of a musical odyssey, so needless to say we’re pretty excited to see what he comes out with. If you don’t believe us, check out the teaser video that was released this morning.
