Ejeca – What You Think EP [Moda Black]

EWYT

Serious deep house business out of the UK courtesy of Ejeca and Moda Black with the EP titled ‘What You Think’. This is Ejeca‘s first official release for the new year and also his first EP since the collab with house legend Terrence Parker, which was released at the tail end of last September on Needwant.

Now to the actual cuts. There are three tracks on this release and are all built on the foundations of strong sampling vocals, as is synonymous with all of Ejeca’s work. Each cut lures you in with the late night/early morning club vibes exemplified by the pulsing bassline in ‘Alone’, then completely grabs you with those signature infectious vocal samples. Title tune ‘What You Think’ has that somewhat old school feel to it as the progression to strings and raw vinyl ambience at the 2:30 mark combined with the undefinable deep house energy, which creates a boogie-friendly atmosphere. The final cut on the EP is a remix of ‘Alone’ from German DJ/Producer David Jach, who delivers a bass-driven interpretation that delves into the deeper regions of house, and it’s straight class.
