SXSW has come to a close for another year. The Austin based festival certainly had its ups (unearthing some amazing new talent and giving us a week full of spectactular live shows) and downs (notably the tragic death of three following the unforgivable behaviour of one vehicular menace; and to a much lesser extent the arrest of Tyler, The Creator for ‘inciting a riot’) in 2014. But for those who stuck it out all the way through to the closing Sunday may have got a little more love than anticipated.
Far removed from the beaches of Ibiza, Tiesto was spotted in Austin dropping beats for lovelorn folk in the search for the one at an exclusive Tinder party. If shirtless, fist pumping, 6 pack reppin’, boss dawgs is your thang, you might be a little dirty that you missed out on this ‘intimate’ gig. Canadian radio presenter Laura Leishman loaded up a quick vid to show off some of the party-goers where she ‘like literally rejects them, in front of them’. Brutal. No doubt there were plenty of bros and hoes swiping their way through the evening.
No word whether the big man utilised the app himself, but could Tiesto and Tinder be kicking off a special relationship of their own? Is this the future of dance parties and lonely ravers? Let’s hope not.
