Bet that headline had you furious until you read HBO right? Up there with the 8-mile esque Diplo movie on the the horizon  an all star line up of producers including Jay Z, Will Smith & Calvin Harris are developing a half hour comedy series ‘Higher’ written by Irvine ‘Trainspotting’ Welsh for the network gods.

According to Deadline, the new show will be ‘set in the world of electronic music’ further cashing in on the growing world of EMC in the USA. Where the opportunities for something horrendous to come of this are rife Higher’s strength/failure is going to totally rely on the music, setting & character perspective and setting up shop at HBO is a sign in the right direction.

One can only hope ‘Higher’ will breed gems like this one from Trainspotting – Ball’s in your court now Mr Welsh, entertain us!
