Flosstradamus teased it in their Reddit AMA, Waka himself has been holding a torch for EDM in the past few months even claiming kingship of Rap-EDM (not sure what the U.K. would have to say about that) but now it’s official! In 2014 fans, the curious and the haters alike will have a Rap-EDM record, ‘Flockaveli Phsychotics’ from Waka Flocka Flame set to feature collabs with no strangers to crossover Diplo, Flosstradamus and Skrillex.

Currently on the road with Steve Aoki and Borgore on the Aokify America tour the rapper will joining an ever growing number of American based rappers leaping into more electronic material. After the trap summer of 2012 further blurred a lot of barriers between genre camps stateside, a lot of room is now there for artists to freely jump back and forth.

Waka Flocka preps his Rap-EDM album after a year where Brodinski & Gesaffelstein, Daft Punk and TNGHT were called in to produce Yeezus, A$AP Rocky enlisted Skrillex, Pusha T went into the studio with Chase & Status, Ghostface Killah  Waka’s most definitely not the first (remember Diddy’s Let’s Get Ill in 2003?) and he’s definitely not the last. One of the more interesting things to come out of the EDM explosion in the USA is the possibilities of what next year will produce with this richer output of crossover projects, really, any step away from Pitbull/Flo Rida’s dumb-hold on EDM is a step forward.
