An Ah..?-Cappella take on Daft Punk

In the weird fashion that we just can’t (read: won’t) embrace, a bizarre-as-fuck a cappella take on Daft Punk has been released with a video that takes creative license to say the least.

The group, whom are aptly named Pentatonix (geography meets practical use of ‘x’) utilise the disarming power of harmonies, contact lenses and foot-tappingly catchy beat boxing to display a pretty ‘original’ take on some of Daft Punks popular hits, audibly and creatively.

The result leaves us at ends. First of all, we’re proved wrong by thinking that these are some Bjork-loving (Skrillex style), Eurovision hopefuls only to find that they’re children of the USA (and possibly German decent based on the whole Blonde hair blue eyed obsession). Secondly, the intention to perhaps channel the robotique style of Daft Punk has instead left us with the bitter taste of a structured split frame in the style of S Club 7, a video making technique we’d rather forget. Lastly, put a mask on the black guy (don’t act like you weren’t wondering)? Strange, strange choices.

Anywhoo, check it out. It’s a good piece of internet weirdness and general bastardisation; ENJOY.
