Stoney Premiere: Favored Nations – Most Girls (James Curd Remix)

Australian-based James Curd is either a very busy or an extremely productive guy. But probably a little bit of both. The very freaking diverse and prolific Australian producer seems to have his hands in many different pots, and that’s a great thing for our ears.

Hot off the heels of Indie Dance (with a Balearic twist) side project " target="_blank">Holy Models’ well-received debut, “Swimming”, Curd’s other project with Morgan Phalen and Surahn Sidhu, Favored Nations, is set to release their debut remix EP, featuring some hot names like Psychemagik and Cosmic Kids.

The project has some serious, dark and stormy LCD Soundsystem Vibes, and James Curd’s own remix of “Most Girls” puts this on full display. This isn’t your (what’s become standard) tropical pop disco. There’s some attitude and risks in here, and they’re worth getting involved with:

Blame Game Remix EP will be out on September 27, and here’s the impressive lineup of remixes:

1. Blame Game (Psychemagik Remix)

2. Blame Game (Martin Dubka Version)

3. The Strain (Nora En Pure Remix) (ace)

4. The Strain (Cosmic Kids Remix)

5. Most Girls (James Curd Remix)

Here’s the full scoop on Favored Nations, via their Facebook page:

Favored Nations is an eclectic, trans-Pacific three-piece band bridging land and sea, creating entrancing music from studio bases in both Los Angeles and Australia. The catalyst for the band was born through a chance meeting on a night out in Los Angeles between James Curd and singer Morgan Phalen, previously of New York indie rock group Diamond Nights, and contributing voice to Justice’s psychy second LP ‘Audio Video Disco’. James could tell straight away that Morgan was a visionary genius, and an instant bond was formed.
