Canberra 3-piece live electronic group SAFIA continue to make waves with their latest track “Listen To Soul, Listen To Blues”, something we’re privvy to be premiering on Stoney Roads!

After recently taking out JJJ Unearthed for a spot on the Groovin The Moo 2013 festival and having their single “Stretched & Faded” supported on JJJ, Safia is becoming a local act to watch in 2013!

Written, produced and performed by Michael Bell, Ben Woolner-Kirkham and Harry Sayers, this track surfs smoothly across genres starting with a soft minimal piano and a vocal heavy intro that eventuates into a harder glitch dubstep progression.

“As producers we really went back to basics with ‘Listen To Soul, Listen To Blues’ and focused on the songwriting before fiddling with computers and production. The whole track was written with a piano and pen and paper and by the time we were ready to add the electronic elements and produce it the track pretty much wrote itself. “

Safia’s music is the contemporary alternative to pop. The type of music soaking up large cult followings like Flume and Disclosure. Prepare your ears!
