Known for his experimental collection of tributes to the legendary J Dilla that he produced each day for fifty days – aptly titled 50 Days for Dilla – alongside his extensive catalogue of EPs and collaborations. The Redbull Music Academy graduate, I imagine, lives in an underground lair, drinking stout beer and never sleeping – only removing his headphones to release one perfectly crafted track after another and answer Facebook fanmail. Like some kind of Phantom of the Beat Scene only less masked and a lot more attractive. His latest is a re-mix (or Re:Twerk) of Seattle producer Sango’s edit of Nas’ classic hip-hop tune You Owe Me. The thundering track, complete with air horn and dirty bass, demands you swagger into a club and buy yourself something expensive and maybe on fire. I wanna dance to it and with a free download someone better be playing it out this weekend.
