Swedish House Mafia have spoken fondly of The Beatles and even compared their modern resonance to that of the British band.
The super group , made up of Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello have been part of the skyrocketing success of ‘EDM’ in mainstream America with their smash hit “One” featuring Pharrell Williams.
Sebastian Ingrosso explained to Rolling Stone “I think the Beatles made something that’s kind of melancholic to sad and happy combined, and that’s just amazing. I kind of analyse music a lot, and I think that what the Beatles have done is what we do today. It doesn’t matter that we do dance music.”
The comment comes after Paul McCartney stopped and watched their performance at this years Coachella Festival 2012 and their wishes to collaborate with The Beatles member.
Stranger still the super group have come out today with an announcement that they have disbanded the group and will continue as individual producers/DJs.
What I really want to know is how many Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synths were sold after they released the video!
