Myspace on the rise?

Seems like Justin Timberlake‘s role in social media is not just as an actor in the ‘Social Network’.

Yes, the former N-Sync boy band member sunk US$35 million with a consortium into the failing platform in June 2011 in an attempt to dent a stake in the highly competitive music industry. MySpace claims that it now has “an average of 40,000 new registrations daily” and says it has added more than a million new users since launching its new MySpace Music Player in December.

The former king pins turned underdogs of social media also tout that their library of 42 million songs is the world’s largest collection of free music!

Is this just talking big? or are you one of the users reopening that old teen account?
