Nilesh Patel, the mastering engineer behind classic tracks from Daft Punk, AIR, Pulp and Bjork has passed away on Wednesday.
The news of his passing was verified by the The Exchange, the London mastering studio in Camden where Patel worked for over twenty years.
Nilesh worked on some of the greatest records ever produced ranging from Bjork’s ‘Homogenic’ to Daft Punks ‘Homework’ and Air’s ‘Moon Safari’. Other projects included Moby, Pet Shop Boys, Underworld, Pulp, Felix Da Housecat, Femi Kuti, Four Tet, David Guetta, Skunk Anansie and Erasure.
Artists Soulwax, A-Trak, the Chemical Brothers and French label Ed Banger Records were quick to praise Nilesh on Twitter and other social media.
