Vinyl Enthusiasts: America’s Biggest Vinyl Manufacturer Headed For Massive Expansion

We all love dropping a needle on some wax, yet the terms supply and demand have long been uncomfortable bedfellows as far as the vinyl industry goes. However, thanks to all who have been feeding the need for the humble 12″, an unprecedented increase in sales in recent years has swung the emphasis in the other direction.

United Record Pressing, ‘your one stop record making shop since 1949’, is attributing the good times to digital music sales – who would have thought? The reason being is that those people who are after something tangible and the best sound quality and experience are going to vinyl as opposed to CDs. As a result the record making super-giant have invested $5.5 million in extending their operations to take in a new 142,000-square-foot warehouse site that will house 16 new presses.

“The 30 presses at the company’s current location…in Nashville are operating 24 hours, six days a week. United Record will continue to operate from that location – the largest record pressing plant in the country – along with the new building.” – United Record Pressing

Responsible for pressing many of the biggest releases in modern music, this new growth and direction for the vinyl is nothing but good news for the future of the music industry.
