Inspired by the recent hype of young producers making waves from their productions,Societe Perrier has honoured the top 50 talented DJs over 50 years of age who are still tearing up dance floors and keeping up with the evolution of dance music.

In an era of dance music where a DJ didn’t need to be a producer, we’ve picked out our five favourite DJs over 50 from the list with a hat tip to the best of the best with some iconic names making the cut.

Most would agree he is one of the most loved DJs in the world. With a DJ career spanning for almost 30 years, Carl Cox has gained a world-wide reputation through the pioneering of his DJ sets, two record labels, radio shows, festival stages and an unforgettable live essential mix to bring in the new millennium in 1999.

Known for dance floor classics like ‘Rockafella Skank’, ‘Praise You’, plus a ton more, Fatboy Slim still continues to rave around the globe with his energetic DJ sets and latest track ‘Eat Sleep Rave Repeat’.

Having been inducted in the Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2004, Giorgio is a pioneer that is recognised for his composition rather than DJ ability. Not only has this disco innovator/pioneer been enjoying a renewed interest in his career thanks to appearing on Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories, the maestro made his debut behind the decks at Output in New York City in May. And more gigs are in the works. At 73 years old, it is never too late for the disco pioneer to start.
