The Sugar Mountain lineup is HERE, and IT IS LARGE

Melbourne’s Sugar Mountain Festival returns with a PHENOMENAL lineup for its 2016 edition! It can’t have been easy to top the 2015 lineup, which featured artists like Nas, ODESZA, Ariel Pink and Midnight Juggernauts, but they’ve pulled it off in one fell swoop.

Boasting a unique, seriously well-curated mix of known and upcoming acts from ALL over the musical map, we reckon it’s one of the best festival announcements yet.

Leading the charge is the legendary Hot Chip, whose sixth album Why Make Sense? dropped earlier this year. Julio Bashmore, Dâm-Funk, Le1f, Kelela and more will be heading in for the festival’s 2016 edition. Australia, meanwhile, is holding its head high with Courtney Barnett, the ever-entertaining Total Giovanni, explorative producer Roland Tings, City Calm Down, Royal Headache and so many more.

The festival also has a large focus on arts, with a specially curated series of projects and installations taking place throughout the event. Parisian duo NONOTAK will be headlining the festival’s art lineup, returning for a second year after unleashing ">this for the 2015 date, as well as the man behind Sia‘s Chandelier and Elastic Heart film clips, Daniel Askill.

A “sensory restaurant” will also be available for gastronomically-minded punters. Called “Sensory”, it is the creative collaboration between Bomba chef Jesse Gerner, artists Tin & Ed, and our boiz Cut Copy. The “interactive environment” brings together sound, music, light, food and more to create an all-encompassing experience for hungry punters, who have otherwise been “getting bored of smashing burgers and chips at music festivals.”
