5 FAVORITE TRACKS FROM ARCHES

arches_header

In anticipation of Arches upcoming release on Columbia we have had our ears on their originals and a few recommendations. The Arches duo are interestingly a Belgian hybrid of Seba from Moonlight Matters and Jochen of hit act Sound of Stereo. Part of two successful acts, Arches take a different direction toward their love of old-school house.

Allowing them to leave the big room and drop a fun one, the first track There’s a Place drops an anthemic vocal with an inspirational ">video.  Debuted on the Magician’s sought-after radio show, early support has been shown from all across the board. From Armand Van Helden to Madeon, this release is already proven on the dancefloor.

In order to showcase their classic taste, we thought what better than to receive Arches picks for tracks that often show up in their crates. A perfect example of the European house revival, these two are a force to keep your eye on for 2014. Starting at the gates with class house on a global superlabel, we know that this is just the beginning of a fresh new sound. Have a listen to five tunes that get these guys moving as well as a short description from the duo. Don’t forget about the upcoming release and even grab the pre-order.

Inner City – Good Life

With Kevin Saunderson steering the boat, Paris Grey on vocals, and a combination of the 909 and legendary stabs fuelling the trip – what can go wrong? Still fresh, still relevant, and we still play it! Dancing to this is definitely a touch of the good life!

Timmy Thomas – Why Can’t We Live Together

This is a very good example of why a great song doesn’t need to have a lot of elements, but just the ‘right’ elements to make it work. Loving the drums, they come from the organ as well if I am not wrong?! Reminds me of some of the organs that we have in the studio, and the limitations of the organ can often be creatively inspiring.

Outlander – Vamp

‪This is a Belgian classic that came out on the cult label R&S Records. It’s a track you can play at pretty much any time in any club and setting. When the stab riff hits at 1.00, it’s hard to not get a big smile on your face.

Basecamp – Emanuel

I remember the first time hearing this track I couldn’t stop hitting the play button over and over again. So gentle, organic and still cutting edge. It is so fresh and on point. Definitely hope to hear more from these guys in the future. A very inspiring track, to say the least!

A Split Second – Flesh

‪As we are inspired by the New Beat sound, this one had to be included. Dark and steamy, yet super catchy and borderline whacky. What more could you ask for in a track?
