Stoney Charts: Kish’s Top 10

Welcome to the very first instalment of Stoney Charts where each week we’ll open up our iTunes vaults to have a listen to what’s occupying our ears this week.  I listen to a lot of music but we all have weeks where we have a few special tracks on high rotation. Some are new, a lot of it is old and there is always a song or two that slipped through the radar only to finally find it’s way to me now. This is what I’ve been bedroom raving to:

1. Michael Ozone – Perfect Systems
Michael Ozone is simply a genius and this video nothing short of entrancing.

2. Number One Ensemble – Back To Heaven
I first heard this song in December at Meredith when Otologic closed their set with this. It is disco at it’s best and doubles all happiness.

3. Blood Diamonds feat. Grimes – Phone Sex  (Unicorn Kid Remix)
I missed the boat on Unicorn Kid. I always thought he had a cool name but that’s where my curiosity ended. I don’t like much of what he does after digging about but this particular remix is a bit of a guilty pleasure.

4. Chordian – Closed Eyes (Paul Kalkbrenner Remix)
This song I discovered when Shazam-ing a different song. Yes, Shazam you got it all wrong but it turned out so right.

5. Bizarre Inc. – Playing With Knives
Sometimes I run low on energy, happiness and money but most of the time those shortcomings are overshadowed when I dance around in my room to this. Piano induced euphoria at its finest.

6. Gat Decor – Passion
This song is such a chiller up until the one minute mark, but that’s exactly where it gets REALLY good. I hope you’re at home when you’re listening to this because a bedroom rave is definitely imminent.

7. KH – The Track I’ve Been Playing That People Keep Asking About And That Joy Used In His RA Mix And Daphni Played On Boiler Room
Fourt Tet has a knack for doing things right.  While this isn’t a track I’ve had on high rotation, I’m going to go ahead and say this could be 2013’s Black Naga.

8. Serge & Tyrell – House Countdown (Eighty Nine Mix)
I have Duke Dumont to thank for this. It was one of the many amazing tracks he had in his Essential Mix and if you can manage to stay still while listening to this track I commend you. That hook is just so perfect.

0. Disclosure feat. alunageorge – White Noise
alunageorge is one of those artists I have not paid attention to. It could be because of the name or just that I assumed from not listening to any of their music I’d hate it. Either way, I feel like I’ve made a terrible mistake because teaming up with Disclosure has opened up my eyes to the sheltered life I am leading.

10. Crazy Gang – Every Sunday (Extended Version)
A life without vocoders is a life I do not want to live. Essentially this song is the reason I am alive.
