Jamie Jones to Reveal a ‘Hotter’ Label Creation Next Month

Fame will inevitably catch some flack along with all the fanfare, which is what Jamie Jones seems to be responding to in his recent Facebook post, addressing the hype about his Hot Natured single collab “Benediction” climbing to #31 on the UK top 40 charts. He defends his highly respected Hot Creations label saying “this is in NO way selling out,” and follows that up by teasing us with promises of a “brand new more underground label” to be launched around December. What an amazing way to rebut “sell out” criticism — of course he’s happy for the recognition, but he still plans to go down deeper into the underground.

It will be interesting to see how his vision for this new mystery imprint pans out in comparison to Hot Natured and Hot Creations, his stellar production project dreamed up alongside friend and co-creator Lee Foss, which Jones has described as their “lovechild.”

“Benediction” is lauded as one of the summer’s hottest tracks, and it’s universal appeal is on the level with the 2011 Hot Creations summer jam “Forward Motion,” both featuring the creamy, vocal stamp of Ali Love. “Benediction” was written in collaboration with Jones, Foss, Love and his Infinity Ink partner, Luca C. The crew plans on releasing an album in the spring of 2013 (perhaps from the new label?) that’s sure to be funky, fresh and soulful as always. And whether “Benediction” continues to climb the charts or not, it’s refreshing and reassuring to see it there among the typical top 40 regulars like Calvin Harris (who’s on there twice at the moment), David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Kanye West, Rihanna, and Justin Bieber, in descending order of most obnoxious (Calvin excluded of course).
