When Worlds Collide: Tiesto and Dillon Francis possibly doing a track

If anything this year’s top 100 was a sign of the new school of dance music catching up to some of the legends we all know and love. Times are changing and though club icons they we grew up with still run the show, young names and bedroom producers are creeping up to start status. The rigoruos tour schedules of the dj elite lead to paths often crossing. This leads to some awesome matchups in the production department.

Based on some twitter chatter it seems like the faux Tiesto and the real deal are going to be matching up in the studio (or at least via the interwebz). The funny man from LA, Dillion Francis has a habit of pretending his is the #1 dutch dj, and now his dream are coming true, kind of. The ‘I’m Tiesto’ joke started small but fooled many. Francis’ latest video, a rework of an older track Masta Blasta has him signing autographs as Tiesto and acting the like star he really is. Earlier this Summer an NYC newspaper even fell for the gag by printing a picture of Tiesto in an article about Francis.

It seems like the master plan worked, as noted today they are exchanging track ideas. The trance master probably produced before Dillon was born. Tiesto was number one DJ in the world many times before Moombahton was even introduced. This team of old vs. new is sure to drop a banger. The original Dutch blended with the latin influenced Dutch. Who knows maybe they will start another sub-sub-genre, Inception style. Only time will tell what’s to come from the two, we can’t hardly wait to hear.
