BNR signed Surtek Collective Premiere Interview and exclusive EP giveaway!

Dose up on some house driven acid thanks to the skillful production stylings of duo Surtek Collective and Boyz Noize‘s very own label BNR!
2 formerly solo producer

– 1 being Atom™ – a German composer, musician and record producer of electronic music. He is often regarded as the father of electrolatino, electrogospel and aciton (acid-reggaeton) music.
– 2 being Vicente Sanfuentes – who has been producing and recording since some 10 years ago. Started in Chile doing electronics and funk. Was part of the infamous Tigerbeat6 label during early 2000’s recording as “Original Hamster” pushing hip hop and funk into digital madness! He has also won a Grammy and MTV award!

We caught up with them to get the inside word on the EP we are exclusively giving away as well as to find out what makes them tick!

Tell us a bit about who you are and what your aspirations are

V: My name is Vicente Sanfuentes, from Chile currently residing in LA. I’m a musician, DJ, producer, artist.

My aspirations have changed during my life but now i want to make music that i love. Hopefully others will enjoy it too. Also i want to be part of the international music scene so i can work and get to know musicians that i like. And make money on the process.

A: My biography you can find here: http://www.atom-tm.com/portada.php?menu=BIOGRAPHY&view=BIOGRAPHY
I’m not even trying to put it in a nutshell.

My aspirations are to make good music and have a fun time doing so.

Which artists have influence your music most?

V: Prince, Quincy Jones, Stanley Kubrick, The Pixies, David Lynch, Talking Heads, Stevie Wonder, Violeta Parra…
A: Salvador Dalí, Duke Ellington, Sun Ra and Luis Buñuel.

What does your EP mean to you and what do you want it to mean to the listeners and fans?

V: Well I like it a lot! 🙂  Always a bomb to play it live or as a DJ. I remember the first time we played “VARI” live in Colombia, for this festival called “Rock al Parque” and it worked so good that we decided to push it even more.  Here’s a video of it

A: i don’t think it has a meaning, as i think that music doesn’t have a meaning at all. Music is a captured moment in time, a sensation that either comes across, or doesn’t. The listener either likes it or not, which comes down to subjective parameters, unknown to the person who makes the music.

How does it feel to get a debut EP on BNR? How did it come about?

V: BoysNoize Records it’s the place to be. Hands down. They’re pushing stuff, delivering quality banger after banger.Which other producers are you into at the mo?

V: Funkineven, John Roman, DJ Qu, D.I.M., Daniel Maloso . Those are the first coming to mind. I’ve been doing a lot of mixes and they seem to be the usual guests. Check the mixes here: http://soundcloud.com/sanfuentes/sets/mixes/
Have you guys ever used your music to seduce a woman?

V: Always and every time. Or seduce a man, what if i was gay?? 🙂

A: Not consciously.

Exclusive EP Giveaway – If I ever get to drive the Virgin Galactica, this EP would be my driving music!
