The Presets Release next single; “Ghosts”

The Presets have spilled “Ghosts”, the second single from their hotly anticipated ‘Pacificia’ release due out this September.

It follows on from the liked/disliked “Youth In Trouble” and a wholly different direction for the Australian duo. Some have already quoted a raegae/ UK bass feel while others have noted an anthemic appeal – users from our Facebook page mused a number of things from “This is like an electro sea shanty” to “Sounds like Old Mcdonald had a farm in places”.

“When Julian played me his initial sketch of this song it utterly blew my mind, “ explains Kim. “Taking a classic folk style, sea shanty and adding it to an up tempo techno groove was just genius to my ears.”

Although running a cool three and a half minutes I felt the need to hit repeat a few times to really get a deeper understanding of what was going on.

On the one hand the guys are playing a dangerous game almost calling todays youth a bit pathetic (The shinest starts won’t shine forever) and on the other the tale of an older audience, who have done it all before and appreciative of real music (gold awaits those who star, you can take now and ill take forever).
