Tech Preview: Traktor Kontrol F1 Set For Release

The official word is out: Traktor Kontrol F1 and Traktor Pro 2.5 is set to hit stores worldwide on the 30th of May as finally announced by Native Instruments.

This release which I have previously discussed here will include a massive upgrade to Traktor Pro’s live remixing capabilities in the form of what is called a remix deck. Basically, each deck now has it’s own associated sample deck that can theoritically host 16 samples, but only four can be active at a time. The video demo that features DJ Shiftee on deck further shows the things a skilled artist can perform in this new Traktor setup.

I’m expecting a tight workflow integration between Traktor Pro 2.5 and Traktor Kontrol F1 as they have done ever so successfully with their previous Traktor Kontrol series. With a retail price of USD279, this is surely not a cheap product but the good news is that you don’t have to get Traktor Pro software separately if you have already buy the hardware, as the software comes included.

More information can be found on the NI product page. Also check out an exclusive DJ TechTools interview with DJ Shiftee here.
