Aphex Twin has beef with Mike Skinner (The Streets)

In a tale of tall egos and bad mouthing artist peers, Mike Skinner (the leed singer from The Streets) has vocalised his distaste for obscure musician Aphex Twin who recently toured with the Future Music Festival!

Skinner goes into Deadmau5 rant mode in his latest memoirs and we have extracted a few interesting bits that offer an insight into the individual artists!

“Don’t get me started on the Aphex Twin, though. He’s an absolute knob-jockey. I’m not generally one for speaking harshly of other musicians, but he’s been quite vocal in his distaste for the Streets over the years, so fair’s fair. I don’t normally mind people not liking me, but people who don’t like me who are absolute shit, I do have a problem with. I spent the entire evening cussing him over the PA at a German festival called Melt once, after he came onstage with about 20 disabled people playing netball in wheelchairs. I realise that on paper this might look like quite an impressive spectacle, in a Spinal Tap kind of way, but to those who were actually there, it just felt really wrong.”

He also went into detail on crossing paths with Daniel Bedingfield; “I’ve been working with Rob Harvey from the Music a lot recently, and his was that while they were mixing their first album, Daniel Bedingfield was working in the next room. He burst in to see them, doing a bit of beat-boxing and bouncing off the walls like he does, then left just as suddenly, saying: “Well, I guess I’ll see you in the charts.”
