The XX have announced in a recent interview with the Creator Project that the new album will have a ‘club influence’.

Jamie was the one to spill details stating; “We’re just about to start recording. Hopefully we’ll get it done in time to be asked to do festivals next year, because that’s the most fun.”

Although news to some, this could be considered a no-brainer with Jamie Smiths current solo workings as Jamie XX dominating 2011 with both remixes and originals.

Further to the point he added; “We’ve all come back off tour and [have] kind of been partying a little bit more. So club music has definitely had an influence on the next record”.

If it’s anything to the vein of the Gil-Scott Heron album we can only be very, very happy listeners!
