Skrillex Looking Good On The Cover Of The Rolling Stone

Looks like Rolling Stone magazine have had a change of heart, moving away from announcing that DJs are “nothing but criminals with the licence to shoot shit into our eardrums” just months ago to putting Skrillex on the cover of their March issue.

A move more akin to the Rolling Stone tradition alive since the 60s: with a foothold in the spirit of Rock ‘N Roll to make the RS cover in the U.S. is an announcement to the world that your music is being recognised on a wider scale, a popular acknowledgement of global takeover.

The artist opened his doors of his Los Angeles studio late last year to talk his at the time ‘secret album’ he was finishing, the run of toned down takeover shows,  as well as his understanding of the beast that is Skrillex: the music, the shows and the culture surrounding it.

“Last year, I was just moving into my own home for the first time in a long time in L.A. Two years prior to that I was living in hotels and traveling. It was just kind of a really crazy time,” Skrillex says, explaining his new album Recess was “inspired by the moment as much as possible and not trying to get caught up in all the noise. It’s just a lot of pieces from a lot of different places as well.”

Heavy on the Promo trail for his full length debut Recess which dropped this week backed up by the Mothership tour alongside Dillon Francis, What So Not, Dj Snake and Milo & Otis and putting together the mind blowing b2b2b2b lineup for Good Times fest in Miami Sonny Moore is setting the pieces for launch into the stratosphere.

The March issue hits the stands March 14.
