Rising Trap Stars Exposed For Buying Beats

Here’s a laugh for you, rising trap producer Juke Ellington, who’s been behind a few ground-swell productions in the US has been accused of stealing a beat for one of his new tracks.

The beat in question is “Swerve” which coincidently shares the same name as a track from a UK producer Kid Urban, that is, the beat is the same, the synths are the same, it features just a few slight tweaks which essentially means the whole damn thing is the same…. but the plot thickens.

Listen below to the two tracks below.

Turns out that neither stole the other’s beat but both Juke Ellington and Kid Urban actually purchased it from Soundclick which totes the original track by Dream Fellas as ‘EDM Trap Swerve’ with the ability to lease it for as little as $19.99 USD.

Now we’ve recently been up in arms over the idea of buying productions (ahem ProducerFactory) with this being a major con to the actual selling of them.

With sites like Soundclick offering up only temporary leases you’d be silly to think that if one of your tracks did make it, that somebody wouldn’t pick up on the fact of it’s origins. Silly stuff.

Do you know anyone else caught up buying beats?
