PREMIERE: SLUMBERJACK’S NEW REMIX + TOP 5 AUSSIE PRODUCERS TO WATCH

Sleeping Fletch

Slumberjack are DJ/producer Fletcher Ehlers and classically trained instrumentalist/producer Morgan Then. The two are said to have ‘quickly bonded over a shared love of electro-house, which in turn rapidly morphed into the bass-heavy, chill-step mutant we find now’.

The Perth based up-and-comers recently announced a signing to New World Artists Australian bookings roster alongside Willow Beats and Sneaky Sound System and today marks the official release of their Cubans Brothers remix.

This monster remix is true to Slumberjack’s signature sound and is out on Central Station Records today. It features a blend of high energy builds, trappy hats and sirens and vocal chops from the Cuban Brothers original. With the detailed arrangement and production of this track, Slumberjack are proving they’re a name worth remembering.

Be sure to catch Perth duo Slumberjack – on tour with Goldroom:
21 Feb: Adelaide (Rocket Bar, Goldroom Tour)
22 Feb: Brisbane (Oh Hello, Goldroom Tour)
27 Feb: Melbourne (The Prince, Goldroom Tour)
1 March: Sydney (Chinese Laundry, Goldroom Tour)

In the spirit of supporting young Australian talent, the boys have given us their brief guide of young Australian producers that are worth keeping on your radar, check it out below.

Sex-jams, soulful bangers and make-out music come to mind.  We first cross paths when Kevin Charm (see below) sent us a private link to his tune “Hold Moi”. We were instantly captivated by his RnB-infused love-trap sound.

Recently getting played on the Diplo and Friend’s show, you’ll see why this remix is getting the attention it deserves. We particularly love his “tropical” sound, featuring deep booming 808’s underneath those beautiful steel drums. It’s like being caught in an odd world where summery-sunny vibes and underground swag came together and made babies.

Kevin Charm
The times where we aren’t listening to our usual hip-hop/beats/trap, we listen to Kevin “Lucky” Charm. We don’t normally venture into the big-room anthems as much but there’s something different about this progressive-house/trance hybrid overlord. He has a knack for writing those big hooks sans the cheese. And if you sense cheese, it’s probably good cheese (think triple-cream brie, yummm) His new piece “Sydneysider” first debuted on Tritonal’s compilation and charted at #9 on the Beatport Trance Top 100 and supported by Armin Van Buuren.
