Early this morning an alert was sent out to electronic music and hello kitty fans across the universe.  Known equally for his affinity for the unusual and a knack for expansive, forward thinking electro, Porter Robinson has arrived with a warning of global proportions: a 10 hour-long video emergency broadcast.  We don’t know when.  We don’t know how.  But ‘Worlds’ is coming (and soon). In November, he signed “a long-term and multi-faceted partnership” with New York label, Astralwerks, and after keeping quiet for the majority of 2013, information regarding Porter’s highly anticipated debut album, ‘Worlds,’ has slowly leaked from HQ.

“This record I’ve been working on for the last couple of years focuses mostly on being beautiful, emotional, and vast-sounding… It’s got a sort of vintage-inspired, lo-fi, nostalgic vibe to it. The album is definitely not a mainstage EDM album at all. I’ve grown so tired of the formulaic, buildup-drop EDM formula. This record is listening music, not party music. I think fans of songs like “Language” will like the album – it’s meant to be emotional and pretty in the same way – but on a different set of sounds. I feel really strongly about this. Many questions still remained unanswered like: “Who are the LLA?”  “Do you stock your pantry for a Porter Robinson induced apocalypse?”  “Has anyone watched the entire 10 hours of random shit in this video?”  We don’t plan on it, but if someone does manage to decode the seemingly cryptic imagery, call us before you hit up Nicolas Cage.

Edit: It seems as if the alternate universe of twitter has put quick work to the video’s cryptic message.  Mr. Rager thinks the ablum will be released on mirrored date 4/1/2014.  Oh wait, that’s April Fools Day…
