Pharrell Williams Studio Session With Australian Electro-Pop Duo

Things don’t seem to be going all that bad for Luke Steele – one half of Empire of the Sun with a recent snap of him in the studio with N.E.R.D producer Pharrell Williams.

The upload to Pharrells official Facebook shows the two hovering over an assortment of keys and synth with what could be a bass guitarist, and stranger still… a pink guitar!

Partner in crime Nick Littlemore of his other project PNAU are looking to secure a UK #1 as they sit pretty in the top spot in the mid-week charts with “Good Morning To The Night” – one of the tracks from a collaborative ‘remix’ project with Elton John recordings from the 70’s.

Elton has long been considered the catalyst in the popularity of Nick in both his Empire of the Sun and PNAU monikers.

He said, “It’s incredible what they’ve done, they’ve created a whole new genre of music. I’m only interested in the future. This way I can revisit my songs from 40 years without having to do it myself. They’ve approached it like the Sistine Chapel!”
