Passion Pit touch on ‘expansive new album’

In an interview with Pitchfork, lead singer Michael Angelakos of early blog-band Passion Pit has revealed four new singles, “Twith”, “Love Is Greed”, “Constant Conversations” and “I’ll Be Alright” all taken from the next album.

The interview shows the depth and complexity to what could be assumed as a buzz band with a return to a true PP sound whilst also previewing a RnB/glitch movement that skews towards more modern times (best of both worlds yeah?).

When touching on the long hiatus between material the clean cut singer stated; “I’m really obsessed with perfect songwriting craftsmanship.
I don’t think a lot of people in music today care about that.  Maybe Dr. Luke does, because he has a formula–  but it’s a terrible one, and it’s not going to last.”

He also meandered around what he called a “tough year” and his engagement into pills and alcohol leading to what he calls  “the truth is in the lyrics”.

The group also consulted with Universal head honcho Rick Rubin for feedback and a Swedish a capella trio called Erato, fascinating read!
