Obviously the initial draw to this track was Sinden’s stamp, and the bassy, percolating production quality is no doubt flawless.

But the beats definitely can’t outshine Mykki Blanco’s rhymes, and even better is the performance element if you check out the video. New York poet and musician Michael David Quattlebaum Jr. is pioneering a new perspective on hypermasculinized hip-hop music: tranny rap! Joking aside, the Mykki personae this 25-year old performance artist has invented is truly unique, with an unabashed peek at what we rarely see in the hip-hop music world: a gay, cross-dressing lyricist – Ms. Blanco, “The Great White Hype.”
