Flume – The Anthem Remix

Flume, Sydney’s Harley Streten recently blew away some very influential people with his remix of Antony For Cleopatra, and now he’s back this time with a remix of Onra, an artist I was previously unfamiliar with. In lue of any knowledge, I found this blurb about Onra, so read on:

Onra is a French beatmaker currently residing in Paris. In 2006, he went to Vietnam for the first time, the land of his grand-parents, and managed to bring back some 30 Chinese and Vietnamese old vinyls. He then made a full album with this material titled ‘Chinoiseries’. Currently his most critically acclaimed album, “Chinoiseries” became the trademark sound of Onra since the song ‘The Anthem’ has been chosen to illustrate a Coca-Cola TV commercial for Beijing Olympics.

Flume has taken the original, sped it up, and swagged it out. The track is described as “asian crunk”, and the tight loops, side chaining coupled with the Vietnamese samples tossed through make a hot tune with dangerous amounts of catchiness. Jump on board the hype train and peep his tunes below. All are also available for download as well. Soundcloud link and Facebook.
