The only reasonable complaint one can wage against the flawless, clairvoyant “Clair De Lune” is that it comes to an eventual end. Fortunately, Australia’s master of the edit and Flight Facilities bud Rocco Raimundo has solved that issue with his super duper extended edit.
Like most of Rocco’s work, the special sauce is his subtlety and respect for the original. While he adds in some lovely percussion elements and spaces the piece out, its beautiful integrity stays in tact. And it’s now more than 12 minutes of blissful ambience.
While the remix package had some moments, Rocco’s version (which was made a year ago) has a bit more integrity and connection with the original piece. And with an already impeccable piece like “Clair De Lune,” less is often more.
