A few days out from the official release of The Presets third studio album ‘Pacifica’ (September 8th), the Modular heavies are streaming five new tracks; Push, Promises, A.O., Fall and Surrender.
You won’t get them all at once though as they will be staggered out one a day starting today with “Push” – most likely to coincide with their ‘Album of the Week’ feature on Triple J.
The first track “Push” is a wiley ‘Presets offering filled with sensible yet overbearing synth lines and heavily repeated chorus, a real party starter!
Listen: The Presets – Push, Promises, A.O., Fall and Surrender
It’s been a slow and well crafted build for the highly anticipated record with early singles “Youth In Trouble” and “Ghosts” getting video and remix treatment and the duo’s inclusion on this years Parklife Festival alongside Justice and Nero!
‘Pacifica’ follows on the from the ‘Apocalypso’ release way back in 2008.
Update 2: “Promises” is a bit more of a ballad, a bit more sweet, probably the popiest song we’ve heard so far. Warms up nicely!
Update 3: Day 3 and we get to listen to “A.O.”, a blissful piano ballard ending in rave-fuzz, probably the most Australian sounding song i’ve ever heard from The Presets.
