Laidback Luke, Darude and Kaskade have shared details on their ‘first times’… when producing dance and electronic music without the initial spectacular results they hoped for. In the humble conversation on Twitter the internationally revered producers admit they weren’t so crash hot at the time. A good reminder that everyone had a first – and a lot of the time it was not necessarily anything worth bragging about.
I put my 1st record out in 1997 and it sucked real bad but I had fun making it.

Darude backs him up, confessing he embraced the simple aspects of his first time:
@kaskade My first track in ’96 or ’97 had a kick, bass, clap, hihat and piano and I thought I was Robert Miles.

Followed up by Laidback Luke who had his sights set high from day one, always good to have a role model to base your first time upon:
@Darudevil @kaskade My first track came out in ’95 and I wanted to be like @MarcKinchen

Take a deep breath, even the big guys struggled at first. Any fails when you started out? What was your first production like?
