House Veteran Terrence Parker; “Unfortunately I have been challenged with this terrible set of circumstances”

Hard times have landed at the feet of veteran Detroit House DJ Terrance Parker that, due to “poor DJ Tour management” has left the producer in debt to many promoters after being unable to attend more than a handful of booked shows over the years.

In an effort to squash the current financial burdens, uphold his ‘stellar reputation’ and commit to future touring dates he’s launched a campaign through popular fundraising site Indie.GoGo that looks to raise $20,000 in total, telling would-be backers;

My once stellar reputation has been damaged because of many broken or empty promises made which left me unable to travel and perform at several shows; disappointing my fans and friends. I have been working very hard on my own trying to recoup the monies to restore the promoters. While I have successfully paid in full refunds to many promoters, there are other who I still owe.

Those who know me personally know I have worked hard and sacrificed much over many years. There is a chance I will be forced to stop DJing if I do not resolve this issue. This is why I am humbled to ask for your help.

Adding;

Unfortunately I have been challenged with this terrible set of circumstances which has put me in this position. I take responsibility for my part, learned important lessons, and now I’m ready to move forward. I have received tremendous support from family, close friends, and colleagues (promoters and club owners).

Already a cool $1,230 has been raised after launching on the 23rd of April and will run through to the 12th of May with rewards on offer for those willing to give the guy a chance including DJ mixes and lifetime entry to any Terrence Parker show in the world.

If we had any feedback we think it’s a little steep dropping $1,000 of cool hard cheddar for a mix and guestlist and instead Terrence should up the ante on whats on offer be it credits on his next mix or some signed gear (his freakin’ telephone!!), tee’s, wax or something ultimately personal and a good reason for a stranger to reach out and help get this guys career back on track.

Terrence has released over 100 originals and remixes worldwide since 1988 with chart topping hits finding their way into the UK, Germany and France. He is often called ‘The Telephone Man’ as he mixes live with his unique handheld telephone. Terrence was only in Australia a few months back playing Sould of Sydneys February party and laying out a slick mix that you can stream below.
