Got 10 Mins? Watch Four Tet Make a Beat Using Only ‘Thriller’ Samples

Kieran Hebden aka Four Tet has had a relatively quiet summer after dropping his festive miracle in December to celebrate his 100k followers on Twitter and also knocking one out for the crew at dontwatchthat.tv for their latest instalment of ‘Beat This’.

Beat This is a video series that takes producers and challenges them to make a beat in under ten minutes with the final result played in full at the end. Past beat makers stepping up to the plate include Swindle, Teeza, Toddla T and more.

In the video below Hebden, who’ll play this years national Laneway festival elected to make his beat from randomly selected samples from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and you can watch his process as he puts together his track in real time. After the experience Four Tet tweeted “10 mins is not very long to make a track and I’ve never sampled thriller before so go easy on me,” – what he produced in the time he had is nothing short of impressive.

What do you think of the final product?
