EDC Founder Pasquale Rotella facing 13 years in Jail!

Electric Daisy Carnival founder and Insomniac Events CEO Pasquale Rotella is facing the long stiff arm of the law as he looks to be jailed for up to 13 years for bribery, embezzlement, conspiracy and conflict of interest charges – 29 accounts in total!

Having only just married Playboy Bunny Holly Madison after the announcement of their first child, the Los Angeles resident breathes easy overnight after posting a whopping $1.8 million bail.

The charges come to light after a long 13 month investigation over the drug overdose of a 15 year old girl his event in 2010 and reports of bribery towards city councillors.

Rotella’s attorney, Gary Jay Kaufman, said the charges are “politically motivated and publicity driven” and feels confident his client will be found innocent.

“[Rotella] has always acted lawfully and appropriately with respect to all of his dealings with the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum,” Kaufman told Radar. “Any allegations of wrongdoing on the part of Mr. Rotella by the District Attorney’s office are completely baseless and flat-out wrong, both on the law and on the facts.”

In a more positive light Pasquale is seen by the dance community as a ‘good guy’ who has helped the rave culture progressive and evolve through current times! This year’s EDC had also managed to sell out before their lineup announcement and launched a sister event in London!

How this will affect the rumoured Live Nation bid or EDC’s future is yet to be seen. More to come.
