Willow Beats Share Their 11 Favourite Songs

In order to gain a better understanding of Willow Beats monster six track ‘Water’ EP due for release tomorrow, we caught up with the Byron based two piece.

Since their inception at Pilerats Records and recent ‘Merewif’ Australian tour, they’ve gone from strength to strength and to gain the perspective of their musical progression, the guys shared a monster eleven track they’re digging big time.

Jefferson Airplane – Today
Music is magic and this song is my elixir. I love the simplicity – guitars, vocals, and minimal percussion. It makes me feel like anything is possible, Today……

Dpat – Cutthroat
Every sound in this song sounds like its dripping with honey. Dpat production is smooth and lush. Cutthroat rolls along and takes you with it.

Devendra Banhart – Never Seen Such Good Things
This is gotta be my favourite Devendra song. He takes nothing too seriously which is REFRESHING.

Cashmere Cat – paws
Paws slides and drips and glides. Cashmere Cat makes 2014 hyper electronic yet maintains beauty.

FKA Twigs – Two Weeks
Lp1 is flowing through my heart right now. This may be my favorite song on the album; I love the contrast between her soft sustained voice and the rhythmic spoken section.

Rihanna – No Love Allowed
Ri Ri kills it in this song. So much ‘tude. Great for a drive to the beach with your girl pals in the summertime.

Dizzee Rascal – I Luv U
Early Dizzee is dope Dizzee! “Boy In Da Corner” Is well worth checking out, highly energetic raps over UK garage beats.

Alta – Wash It Down
I love how sporadic this song feels. Hannah kills it on the vox with clicks and clacks. It serves up an eclectic palate of sound.

Dub Phizix and Skeptical – Marka
This song is addictive – Perfect for the early hours when you’re feeling creepy. Check out the video for this one too.

Gold Soul Theory – The Underacheivers
Phsycadelic hip hop, nothing better.

Bonobo – Days To Come
Bonobo is brilliance. Bonobo is versatility – you can chill to this song or get down low and groove.
