33 Million players later and Deadmau5 has closed off an avenue for his fans to access his music via Soundcloud. The Canadian Mau5trap label owner is opting to try and point the true Zimmerman beliebers to his private site.

Why, you ask, has he done this? We break it down to a few things;
– He can become even more rich by making people subscribe to his life/ updates/ live streams etc at a monthly or yearly fee
– He has been at a whits end for some time bagging pretty much every social media channel out there, even going as far as to express his disappointment in some fans spending more time on their phone than watching his show
– He has 8 million fans on Facebook + 2.6 mill on Twitter. When you reach that point of popularity, why not try and monetize your fans more so by giving them unique access!

This all being said, Deadmau5 has more often than not gone back on his word by e.g. Reopening his Twitter account recently.
