Daft Punk: When anonymity goes wrong

Daft Punk

Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter opened up to Rolling Stone on how the band’s anonymity has not always worked in their favour.

The one half of the famous French duo spoke about how a night out in Ibiza backfired when a man ran up a huge bar tab pretending to be them. He explained, “One thing I like about the masks is that I don’t have people constantly coming up to me and reminding me what I do. It’s nice to be able to forget, but there are occasional downsides. Several years ago in Ibiza some guy ran up exorbitant bar tabs at clubs while claiming to be me.”

In an even more hilarious incident, a scalper in 1997 tried to sell them tickets to their own show at the now defunct London Astoria.

Do you have a story of when a fan XTL? Or do you believe these fans XTL?
