Daft Punk return, for real this time!

Earlier this evening the official Daft Punk Facebook page was updated with an image of the two iconic helmets worn by the French maestro’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter and the blunt status – www.daftpunk.com

Anyone trying to visit the Daft Punk homepage will struggle to get it to load under what is expected to be a feverious amount of traffic!

What has already become the most anticipated release of the year began it’s hourney all the way back in May 2012 with talks of collaborative work with Giorgio Moroder and Nile Rogers, who believed their track would be out before a tour to Japan – tentatively pointing to March.

In June Thomas Bangaltor strangely scored a Lindsay Lohan starred short film while the duo put together a mix for Saint Lauren fashion cat walk.

There were also numerous rumours of festival appearances, track leaks and single names alongside a cameo on The Simpsons official Daft Punk Bearbricks up for grabs.

All we know so far is the release will be on Sony’s Columbia Records alongside young electronicist Madeon (playing this years Future Music Festival) but we’d be sure of a March single release that would fall in line with the last two Daft Punk albums.

Can anyone say hype?
